TPG Architecture reimagined the Major League Baseball Players Association’s 46,800-square-foot New York headquarters as a player-first workplace rooted in the history, culture, and shared passion of the game. Spanning two floors, the new workplace draws inspiration from the modern baseball clubhouse and the sport’s visual language, using immersive storytelling, custom graphics, and materials to celebrate the union’s mission and the players it represents. Every surface contributes to a layered narrative, transforming the headquarters into an environment that feels deeply connected to the game.
The lower floor serves as a creative hub, encouraging collaboration among MLBPA’s in-house teams. Above, executive and legal spaces are grounded in legacy, featuring visual timelines, engraved player names, and materials that honor the evolution of the union and the sport itself. Branding is expressed through graphics, player photography, stadium-inspired signage, and baseball motifs that bring the story of the sport into the workplace. Material textures, custom glass films, and dimensional installations translate the grit, rhythm, and history of the game into physical space. Together, these player-focused moments reinforce connection across generations, creating a cohesive environment that honors MLBPA’s past while supporting its future.
