Mack-Cali Realty Corporation is a real estate investment trust with properties throughout the Northeast. Mack-Cali is the owner of Harborside, a mixed-use complex of offices and apartments on the Hudson Waterfront in the Exchange Place neighborhood of Jersey City. As part of their initiative to make major capital investments along the waterfront, Mack-Cali enlisted TPG with designing a collaborative food-hall at the ground floor of their headquarters in Harborside 3 at 210 Hudson Street.

The new District Kitchen food-hall is part of Mack-Cali’s larger initiative to help revitalize and reflect the expansion of the Jersey City pier, and is intended to attract local residents, workers, and daily commuters. TPG’s designers worked to reimagine the former corporate cafeteria space to provide Harborside with a communal dining facility that represents the diversity of the people working and living in the area. The design intent is to reproduce the same synergy of a food hall market and to promote a sense of community within the neighboring buildings.

The space features an assortment of seating and cuisine options that provide guests with an immersive culinary experience. All the food vendors have a clean, uniform designed area that they can brand and customize to their liking.
