TPG Architecture was engaged to design a dynamic, contemporary, and inspiring workspace spanning three floors for this confidential financial firm in New York City.
Embracing a unique and highly specific planning strategy, the vision for the financial firm's new program centered around the inclusion of team rooms that could accommodate 4 to 12 staff members. TPG took considerable care during design development to ensure that every corner of the three-story stack aligned with this commitment to prioritizing collaborative space, designing moments to affirm and celebrate the firm's culture throughout.
In addition to team rooms and cafés are available on every floor, while amenity spaces and quiet zones provide employees with convenient and inviting spaces for relaxation, socializing, or exercise. A strategically positioned staircase connects all three floors, serving as a stunning architectural centerpiece offering panoramic views of Central Park and the bustling city. Its deliberate positioning facilitates movement between the public areas and the communal outdoor terrace on the bottom floor.
The middle floor combines functionality and leisure, offering employees a large café and game room that can shift into a communal gathering area and a versatile public assembly space, thanks to its flexible folding wall. On the top floor, a welcoming reception area and spacious conference rooms provide visitors with a professional environment to work, gather, and present in.
Across the three stories, materials are soft, with matte stone finishes, oak wood flooring, and walnut millwork. Unique lighting fixtures with geometric shapes add a touch of sophistication, while living walls in the café spaces introduce natural elements that provide a connection to the outdoors. These details come together to create a modern and inviting workplace, uniquely tailored to meet the investment firm's needs and strategic vision for its new space. From the collaborative team rooms to the innovative amenities, TPG's design fosters productivity, well-being, and a sense of community.
