TPG Takes on Fashion Design for Product Runway 2019

TPG is proud to have participated in this year's Product Runway event. This year's central theme revolved around creating a garment inspired by different dances from various cultures around the world. Our garment was inspired by the rich culture and extravagant nature of West African masquerade ceremony and featured vibrant colors, rich patterns and symbolic textiles with contemporary flare. The piece was paired with handwoven full-body adornments, including shoulder pads and a sculpted mask. On the runway, the non-traditional dancewear transformed into a work of art. The designs were auctioned off to raise money for scholarships for NYC-based students.
