Recognitions Shop! Awards: Silver in the Department Store Category

El Palacio de Hierro is an upscale fashion and lifestyle brand with 16 unique department stores in Mexico, offering high-end shopping, services, and dining. Over the years, our firm has been trusted to create thoughtful designs for Palacio locations that speak to the localized, community store concept. TPG works with the El Palacio brand and leadership team to keep the luxury standards of design and customer service at the forefront. In each of our designs, we tailor the store to the market, and provide different design concepts for each department. Each department store ranges from 100,000 SF - 350,000 SF and includes multiple levels and usually a central atrium that serves as the focal point for the store.

Our work for El Palacio Satelite celebrates the essence of Mexican culture. Spearheaded by the famous Mexican architect Parragan, the nearby suburban development was master-planned, and several distinctive projects were conceptualized throughout the region. Notably, Parragan's creation of the Los Torres de Satellite along the main highway—a series of four concrete prism-shaped towers in primary colors (white, yellow, blue, and red)—stands as the area’s striking and sculptural hallmark. The surrounding area holds immense pride and historical significance as a vanguard of Mexican modernism. Our store design serves as a tribute to the nearby community, drawing inspiration from the classical facets of the nearby culture. The atrium's four columns were deliberately created to echo the towers, fostering a sense of ownership and delight among visitors within this historical and artistically rich environment.
