TPG EXPANDS RETAIL STUDIO TO MEET GROWING DEMAND
 
Announces Five New Senior Staff
 
New York, NY - August 16, 2012 - TPG Architecture announces that it is expanding the size of its retail studio: Five senior design and project management professionals recently joined the studio, which is led by Managing Partner Fred Strauss, Principal Alec Zaballero and Studio Director Diana Revkin. TPG Architecture is currently working for clients such as El Palacio de Hierro, a luxury department store in Mexico; UK heritage brand Belstaff in London; Panamanian chain store El Machetazo; Macy's; Kate Spade and designing retail bank branches for JPMorgan Chase. TPG has also recently designed a new showroom for shoe designer Stuart Weitzman and a new outlet store prototype for DKNY, among other shops and store projects.

In project management, the new staff are:.

Ron Alalouf, Senior Project Manager
Ron returns to TPG after a two year hiatus as a principal at 212 Design, Inc. With over fifteen years experience in the retail sector, Ron has developed a wealth of skills, working with high-end clients including Bottega Veneta, Elie Tahari, Gucci, Valentino and Sergio Rossi. Ron received his Bachelor's degree in Architectural Technology and a Master's in Energy Management from the New York Institute of Technology.

Mike Ho, Senior Project Manager
Mike joins TPG with a wealth of retail experience, including seven years as Manager of Retail Construction for Tiffany & Company. He is particularly adept at developing rigorous and disciplined construction methodologies for new projects. Mike graduated Magna Cum Laude from New York Institute of Technology, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Technology.

Paul Madden, Senior Project Manager, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB
Paul started his practice in the Greater Boston Area, with high-profile national clientele. He is a registered architect in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts who has taken team lead on numerous high-profile retail projects such as ADIDAS Flagship (NY), Sephora Flagship (NY) and True Religion Jeans Flagship (CA). Paul received his Bachelor's Degree in Architecture and Building Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

TPG has also hired the following designers:

Anthony Simon, Design Director
Anthony's strong retail background is evident in his extensive portfolio that includes high-profile projects such as Polo Ralph Lauren, Dylan's Candy Bar, and Quiksilver. Anthony was exposed to design early while working with his father, who was a builder/contractor. He is a graduate of Pratt Institute, School of Architecture.

Niki Varadi, Senior Designer
Niki brings over a decade of conceptual design experience to TPG, working in Rome and San Francisco before settling in New York. She has worked with Karl Lagerfeld, Nike, Levi Strauss, Hyatt, and Westin Hotels, as well as a mix of independent luxury boutiques and other big box retailers, to create concept design and branding. Niki received her BFA in Art History & Painting at Santa Clara University, CA. She earned a post-baccalaureate degree in History of Interior Design at Studio Art Center International and a degree in Interior Architecture from Istituto Europeo di Design, both in Italy.

Jim Phillips, founding Principal of TPG, said that, "We are extremely pleased to see our retail work expand not just in the number of projects we're doing but also geographically, as we are now designing stores in London, Mexico, Panama and, of course, New York City. TPG is very committed to this market sector, and we are delighted to see healthy growth in retail work."

TPG Architecture was founded in 1979 and has grown from a small partnership to a design firm of approximately 180 staff, with offices in New York City, Long Island and London. While the firm's core competencies are in corporate and retail design, TPG has cultivated practice groups in education, broadcast, architecture, healthcare and branding and graphics. Current and recent clients include: HBO, British Airways, HSBC, Batali and Bastianich Hospitality Group, Weber Shandwick, Chase Bank, DKNY, SL Green, and Specific Media.
