On Wednesday August 21st, TPG hosted and participated in a Think Tank panel sponsored by Metropolis Magazine. Think Tank is a continuing education series that travels to leading architecture and design firms throughout North America. The goal of these speaking engagements is to challenge experts in the design industry to examine the strengths and weaknesses of current design thinking and trends throughout the areas of education, workplace, wellness, and hospitality.
Our event, “Hospitality’s Next Breakthrough: Defining the Future of the Guest Experience,” brought together several perspectives throughout the industry to discuss what hospitality spaces can do to meet new challenges in demographics, mobility, and technology – thereby defining the future of the guest experience.
Our panelists included: Shay Lam Nakashiki, Managing Executive / Studio Creative Director at TPG Architecture, Manuel Garcia, SVP at Mack-Cali Realty Corporation, Susan Nugaha, VP of Design and Development at Tao Group, Chris Pfohl, SVP at Pyramid Hotel Group, Greg Stobbs, Senior Director at The Ritz Carlton Hotel Company & St. Regis at Marriott International, and Carolyn Vahey, Managing Director at Hospitality House.
The conversation was guided by Avinash Rajagopal, Editor in Chief at Metropolis Magazine. The room buzzed with energy as the panelist discussed topics including how companies create memorable experiences for their guests, how the current media landscape is changing these experiences, and where do we expect of service in the future. The panel also touched on the importance of involving the local community and forming partnerships in order to connect to their audiences and create more personal, bespoke experiences.
Thank you to our sponsors DXV and Grohe, Metropolis Magazine, our panelists, and our in house team for making this event possible!
